We at Dhristhi Seva Sansthan, regularly organise camps to motivate people about the importance of eye donation. In these our team helps people guide through the process and answer every queries that they have.

Eye Donation Sankalp

The people who shares the same belief as ours, takes a Sankalp for eye donation. These people also helps in motivating other people to come together for such a noble work.

Dehdan Camps

Human bodies are used to teach students about the structure of the body and how it works. The bodies are also required to train surgeons and other healthcare professionals. The medical institutions receive dead bodies (called cadavers) by voluntary donations and also the unclaimed bodies provided by the Police. These donations are highly valued by staff and students in medical institutions.

How Long does it takes to remove the eye?

Eye removal takes only 10-15 minutes and leaves no scar or disfigurement of the face

Can I donate my eyes after death?

Anyone can donate their eyes irrespective of age,sex and blood group. The cornea should be removed within an hour of death. Eyes of donated person can save the vision of two corneal blind people.

Do we have to transfer the dead body to hospital for eye donation?

NO. You can contact the eye donation team and they will reach and do the procedure in no time.

I have undergone eye surgery. Can i donate my eye?

Yes. The people who wear glasses, has undergone surgery are all fit for eye donation.

Can i donate my eyes while i'm alive?

NO. Eye donation is only possible after death. You can take the sankalp for eye donation, this will ensure that your eyes will be donated after your death.

Can i sell my eyes?

NO. Selling or buying of eyes is illegal under law.

Is my identity shared to the reciever family?

NO. Neither donor nor reciever are shared any such details.

Who can't donate eye?

Patients who are diabetics, those suffering from hypertension, asthma patients and those without communicable diseases can also donate eyes. Persons who were infected with or died from AIDS, Hepatitis B or C, rabies, septicemia, acute leukemia, tetanus, cholera, meningitis or encephalitis cannot donate eyes.
